We operate and own parking locations in every part of Center City, Rittenhouse Square, the Convention Center area, South Street, and Old City.
E-Z Park Inc. is owned and operated by the Spear Family. The Spear family has been engaged in the parking business since the early 1900s. Great Grandfather, Abe Spear owned and operated a livery stable on South 3rd Street, which later became Spear’s Garage, one of the first commercial parking garages in the country.
The family business became known as EZ Park Inc. in the early 1950s. Abe’s son, Leon Spear, came home from WWII and joined the business. He took over the business, in the early 1950s, when Abe Spear retired. He incorporated the company and changed the name to EZ Park Inc. During this time Leon Spear married his life, long, love Jeanette, who became his partner in the business. Their sons, Robert Spear and Harvey Spear, the current owners joined the business after finishing college. They took on a major expansion that changed Center City Philadelphia parking.
The family matriarch Jeanette Spear, played a large role in the daily business. With unrivaled experience and business acumen, she consulted on every major decision. Ashley Spear and Greg Spear joined the management team 15 years ago. They have vast knowledge of the business. They modernized the company by incorporating computer systems, video surveillance, and automated revenue control systems into the operations.
EZ Park Inc. has vast experience in operating Municipal Parking Facilities, Public Garages, and Condominium Garages. We also have expertise in operating Valet Service parking for restaurants and retail stores. We own and operate surface parking lots and garages in every part of Center City Philadelphia. Having a deep understanding of the parking business, from the customer’s point of view, has been essential to our success. A pleasant, parking experience along with satisfactory rates is our goal !!
Our unique knowledge of the Center City real estate market has also been the key to our success. One of our greatest accomplishments was the assemblage of a formerly owned parking lot and our corporate main office on the 1400 block of Spruce Street. The area has since been developed into the Kimmel Center for Performing Arts, the home of the Philadelphia Orchestra. We have owned and continue to operate several locations in close proximity to the Pennsylvania Convention Center, Theaters, Restaurants, Old City, South St., and Rittenhouse Square.
With unparalleled understanding of the Philadelphia Real Estate Market and its growth potential; the Spear Brothers became involved in the Center City residential market. Thirty five years ago they began investing in Center City apartment buildings. Some were renovated from mere shells, to creating first class buildings.
EZ Park Inc. continues to pursue new growth opportunities by getting involved early in the parking component of new construction. This is in commercial buildings as well as the condominium market. Acquisition of land, garages, leasing, and management agreements is our top priority.
